If you are running your own business from home either selling your handcrafted jewellery or other craft products perhaps now would be a good time to book that family holiday to Florida.

The Craft and Hobby Association or the CHA are launching their first craft supershow in Orlando. The CHA usually put on trade shows, but during the 31s July  to the 1st August, the CHA are opening their doors to the public with a consumer craft show extravaganza.

Epbeads exhibited at the trade show in LA in January this year, and the show was a real eye opener to the huge arts and crafts market in the USA. The CHA is where many new products are launched and exiting new trends develop.

The consumer show is a must for anyone wanting to try out many new products as the show actively encourages companies to give  demonstrations, and awards extra space to for  “make and takes “ i.e. they encourage companies to give interactive tutorials and the customer gets to take away their project.

If you are running a small craft business then you may be able to make this trip as a tax deductible  business expense,  just contact your accountant or business advisor for details.

Of course you can’t claim for the family, or  for Disney tickets, but  having one member of the family flying out to Orlando as a business expense is certainly a bonus in this current climate. The show is open to all, take the kids along for a bit of crafting magic. Check out the details here.

If you do manage to arrange a trip, do let us know, it would be nice if a group of epbead customers could meet up at the show in the USA.  At this stage we would love to get out to Florida ourselves, but as we just had a rather costly trip exhibiting at the January Trade Show we don’t think at this stage that we can make it out there. But here’s hoping!

Anybody who is thinking of going, please let me know, and for  those of you looking for accommodation in Florida, I can recommend the Animal Kingdom Lodge
http://www.animal-kingdom-lodge.info/  It is a Disney hotel, but without all the Disney stuff. It’s a very elegant African style lodge and really is a great place to go for relaxing retreat. Also check out the show link above as the CHA has some discounted accommodation for visitors to the show. Accommodation in the states is a lot more than in the UK. The rooms are usually bigger and often come with two queen beds as standard, meaning that four adults can easily be accommodated in the one room. This is a real cost saver. 

Finally, we are having a clear out of beads, samples, end of lines, and products that we liked but just could not get a big enough supply of.
