Bead Suppliers
When looking for regular bead
suppliers you will undoubtedly end up at looking at one of
the top three or four larges beads companies. Some of the large
bead suppliers are very good and they offer a good solid range
and a reasonable level of customer service.
Most of the major suppliers will opperate via a mail order service
and traditionally in this country this has been the way to order
specialist craft items like bead supplies. The main problem with
selling products this way has been the huge cost of producing
a catalogue. Because the bead suppliers have found producing
a catalogue is so expensive, catalogues are usually charged for,
and to avoid frequent re shoots of new catalogues either the
bead ranges rarely change, or the bead suppliers send out bead
supplement pages which inevitably become lost.
The
advent on online shopping means that many new bead suppliers
now carry bead supplies without having to incur the rather large
cost of producing a catalogue. The rise of new bead suppliers
means that todays Jewellery makers are spoilt for choice.
However it is a fact of life that the limited bead market will
only be able to sustain so many of the new bead suppliers and
therefore it is important to know what to look for when choosing
a bead company to deal with.
Many new bead suppliers will not have the industry knowledge
that is required to run, help, and inform their customers. They
may sell inferior products which do not comply with European
regulation and will be unable to answered customer enquires appropriately.
Not all bead suppliers can be expected to have an employee at
the end of the phone that will be able to answer all customer
questions, but there should be at least someone within the organization
that should be able to help if you need clarification on a particular
product.
Cheap bead suppliers are not necessarily the best. A company
selling products too cheaply may compromise on the quality and
could very well not be in business very long. Bead suppliers
incur many costs that the end consumer may not think of. The
cost of any business has to be passed onto the customer and that
is why some products end up being more expensive than the customer
would like.
Bead suppliers need to warehouse their bead supplies. They need
to pay staff, maintain a web site or catalogue, maintain a database,
computer and office equipment. They also need to organize franking
of the post, a franking machine, and finally all bead supplies
will attract VAT. Even after all these costs are taken into consideration,
a major expenditure will be advertising and promotion. It does
not matter if a company has the most fantastic range of bead
supplies, if they do not advertise to the customer the customer
will not know of their existence, and advertising is not cheap.
Therefore if you like the service, reward the best bead suppliers
with your custom.
